The Power of Forgiveness

“When you hold resentment toward another, you are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free.”
~Catherine Ponder

What does forgiveness have to do with confidence?

Forgiveness allows us to break free of the shackles that hold us back. We are released from our prisons of the past.

Forgiveness is a gift that we can choose to use for our own higher good. We no longer define our lives by how much we have been hurt but by how much we have grown.

We can go forward with a confidence that is not tainted by the past.

There are two parts to the forgiveness process – to forgive others for what they did or what we perceived they did to us and to forgive ourselves for feeling negative energy towards them and letting have an affect us.

“Most people think you are forgiving the perpetrator and they’re off
scot-free and you get nothing, it’s just the opposite. When you forgive a person, you’re deciding to be freed.”
- Jim La Rue, whose daughter Molly was murdered on the Appalachian trail in the USA
